To His Imperial Majesty Jonathan I. of the House of Austen, Emperor of Austenasia, Autocrat of the Romans, Great King in Carshalton, King of Rushymia, Founder of Austenasia, Katechon and Defender of the Faith,

our warmest greetings.

It has come to our attention that the Prime Minister of Your Imperial Majesty, HIH Lord Admiral Joseph Kennedy, claims the title of the Duke of Bohemia. The Free and Independent Association Venedi possesses unbreakable ties to- and interests in the historical land known as Bohemia, and as staunch supporters of the constitutional monarchism, we recognize the current head of the Imperial House of Habsburg-Lothringen, Karl, Archduke of Austria, Royal Prince of Hungary, Bohemia and Croatia, as the rightful ruler of the Bohemian lands.

With this in mind, we must ask whether or not is the concerned Ducal title bestowed by Your Imperial Majesty upon your subject, HIH Lord Admiral Joseph Kennedy, indeed tied to the historical land known as Bohemia located within Central Europe.

In case the concerned Ducal title is not in any way tied to the lordship over the land of Bohemia in Central Europe, we would like to ask Your Imperial Majesty to consider creating a distinction between the Ducal title bestowed by Your Imperial Majesty and the title of the King of Bohemia in Central Europe.

In case the concerned Ducal title is indeed tied to the claim of lordship over Bohemia in Central Europe, we must regretfully inform Your Imperial Majesty that we would not be able recognize this Ducal title as valid, nor would we be to address Your Imperial Majesty’s Prime Minister “Duke of Bohemia” in any type of communication with the Empire of Austenasia or HIH Lord Admiral Joseph Kennedy, regardless of the situation and however formal or informal the communication will be.

With the most sincere hopes in clarifying this matter and preserving the best of relationships between the Empire of Austenasia and the Free and Independend Association Venedi,

Awaiting Your Imperial Majesty’s official answer,

Wishing Your Imperial Majesty and your subjects a great day,

Given in Prague on behalf of the Free and Independent Association Venedi,

David Petronius Bononien Vavruška Alkier-Daltschitz                  Mgr. Jan Linhart

Foreign Secretary                                                                                     Chairman

26.2.2019 - Vladařský dvůr Austenasie nás ubezpečil, že se nejedná o titul, který by byl identický s historickým teritoriem Koruny české, ale že je napojen pouze na malé území říčky Rokytky:

Your Excellency, greetings!

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We wish to reassure you that the Austenasian Duchy of Bohemia does not correspond to the historical land of Bohemia, to which legitimate title belongs (as you rightfully state) to Archduke Karl.

One of Austenasia's land claims is a small area of land measuring roughly 12,000 square feet which is an enclave of the Czech Republic, consisting of a small stretch of the Rokytka river and its banks. This land is the Austenasian Territory of Aurora, and is administered for Austenasia by its governor, Lord Friedreich, who lives in a nearby residence.

The Austenasian Duchy of Bohemia is the ceremonial administrative division to which Aurora belongs, and as such consists solely of a small area of land and not to the historical Kingdom of Bohemia in its fullness. The name was chosen out of respect for the historical and cultural context of the territory, and not with an intention to misappropriate the historical claims of the Habsburgs. We hope this clarifies the matter at hand.

Very best wishes,

His Imperial Majesty Jonathan the First

By the Grace of Christ our God faithful Austenasin Emperor and Autocrat of the Romans

5.3.2019 - S poděkováním jsme přijali vysvětlení vladařského dvora a zaslali naše návrhy takového řešení, které by předcházelo obdobným nežádoucím záměnám:

To His Imperial Majesty Jonathan I. of the House of Austen, Emperor of Austenasia, Autocrat of the Romans, Great King in Carshalton, King of Rushymia, Founder of Austenasia, Katechon and Defender of the Faith,

our warmest greetings.

We give our most heartfelt thanks to Your Imperial Majesty for providing us with a clarifying response to our inquiry. We are very glad to hear that our common interests weren’t disrupted in the slightest.

Since the ducal title bestowed by Your Imperial Majesty upon your subject is tied to a small plot of land ceremonially associated with the historical lands of the Bohemian Crown, and since we acknowledge that said title may yet cause confusion regarding the origins of the title among Your Imperial Majesty’s subjects as well as citizens and members of other domains and organisations such as ours, we would humbly request Your Imperial Majesty to consider adding a distinctive element to the title, such as the Duke of Bohemian Rokytka or the Duke of Bohemia-Aurora. We believe this measure will end any confusion many may otherwise encounter what hearing of this one of the titles bestowed by Your Imperial Majesty upon you loyal subjects

We would like to assure Your Imperial Majesty of the fact that the official communiqué which spawned Your Imperial Majesty’s response and subsequently this very message has been sent to Your Imperial Majesty’s hands in a physical form out of purely formal reasons, since our organisation had vowed to do so.

The inquiry included in it has already been answered by Your Imperial Majesty and as such need no further reaction on Your Imperial Majesty’s part upon receiving it.

Apart from this matter, our organisation would very much like to open our official diplomatic communication to the public, preferably using our official website and Facebook profile.

We would humbly like to request Your Imperial Majesty’s acceptance of this move on our part, in case Your Imperial Majesty does not object to it.

Given on the 4th of February, A.D. 2019,

5.3.2019 - Austenasie reagovala na náš návrh, který pokládá za rozumný a bude ho konzultovat s držitelem vévodského titulu:

Your Excellency, greetings!

Many thanks for your reply. We are glad to know that we have sufficiently explained the matter at hand.

Your suggestion that the title be renamed is a sensible one, and we shall take it under serious consideration, but no final decision on this matter will be made without the input of our Prime Minister, the current holder of the dukedom.

You are very welcome to publish the communication between our two governments. If we intend any message to be confidential, we shall make sure to let you know.

Very best wishes,

HIM Emperor Jonathan I
